Program Priorities

In keeping with the mission of Kiwanis International which is "children priority one" the majority of charitable giving from the Kiwanis Club of Haverhill will be to support non profit organizations that provide services to children and young adults. Other charitable giving will be at the discretion of the Board of Directors.

Organizations requesting funds should include a copy of the most recent tax-exempt status letter from the Internal Revenue Services, evidencing Section 501 (c) (3) status if applicable. Submission with request shall include the following information
  • Statement of the organization background, the purposes and objectives of the organization and a list of Board of Directors (or Trustees)

  • A detailed statement of the project or program for which charitable support is being sought

  • Any other information which the applicant believes will be helpful to the Board of Directors in evaluating the request
Charitable giving is available to organizations that reside in and/or provide services in Greater Haverhill with an emphasis on the City of Haverhill.

Funding Restrictions

The Kiwanis Club of Haverhill does not provide charitable support to organizations which discriminate based on:
  • Age
  • Race
  • Color
  • Sex
  • Religion
  • National Origin
  • Disability
  • Family Status
  • Sexual Orientation
In addition, the Kiwanis Club of Haverhill does not support
  • Annual appeals
  • Individuals, except for scholarship purposes
  • Religious activities
  • Labor and fraternal organizations
  • Political organizations, campaigns or projects
  • Operating deficits
  • Government or quasi-government agencies
Requests for Charitable Giving are accepted throughout the year and reviewed on a quarterly basis. Emergency requests are reviewed on a case-by-case basis at the discretion of the Board of Directors. All request should be submitted to:
